Engagement season is upon us, it’s a busy ol’ time for us wedding venues and ... Yes... we LOVE it!

But What happens once you’ve said ‘Yes’?

We guess it’s quite a few of you out there.

The first port of call for any couple looking to get on with the wedding planning will be venue hunting. Google and Wedding directories are a great place to start although I hasten to add we‘ve chosen to steer clear of many directories out there.

Well, we’ve always considered ourselves to be totally unique, unlike any other venue be it woodland or otherwise. Yes, we have woodland but that doesn’t make us different, there’s lots of those around... We have gardens but there’s lots of outdoor venues around. We have not one but 2 barns, and yes, there’s lots of barn venues out there too!

So why are we different, what do we have that not many other venues offer...

Firstly, we are ONE if only a handful of Licenced woodland wedding venues in the UK, so you can actually get legally married in our woodland venue... woohoo!

We have an abundance of individuality, a style all of our own. Our venue leads you through an adventure, different wooded and garden areas, secret hideaways and dens scattered throughout.

Whilst creating the the concept of Upthorpe Wood (over 6 years ago) we knew we wanted to create a magical space with a twist around each corner, so as your guests wander around they can discover all the magicalness (a special Upthorpe word!!)

Look closely and tucked away in a beautiful corner you’ll find the gorgeous ceremony area.

We wanted to prempt all our couples requirements such as providing LOTS of undercover space which will work well throughout the whole wedding day, allowing areas to naturally flow together.

We tend not to see couple looking for tradition but ones looking for bucking all those ideas and going for something completely unique and personal. This is certainly the time to indulge yourselves with the wedding planning! Make it a day to remember.. maybe with outdoor woodland feasting, evening cinema for the children, story telling for the adults?
